Seborrheic keratosis

Evaluation

Typical microscopic findings in seborrheic keratosis:

  • A localized epidermal proliferation of basaloid and squamoid cells.[1]
  • Most commonly a dome-shaped exophytic epidermal growth, containing multiple cornified cysts.[1]
  • The proliferating cells are generally round and basaloid.[1]
  • Melanin pigment deposition can occur.[1]
  • Clinically, the patient is generally elderly.[1]
